When plotting our site, we laid out our hectare so as to feature as much variety as possible. As such, Site 8 includes a stream, the intersection of the Burns and Muhley Trails, an unofficial game trail, and several slopes. To map the site, we paced out distances and used compasses to determine direction. Map 1 is a base map with an overview of the landscape features on the site. Map 2 is a vegetation map depicting the main forest cover type for each section of the site. Map 3 is an excerpt from a historic topographic map of Chittenden County from the early 1900's.
